Jamie Oliver visited Marrakech in 2010 to try out the street food, like slow-roasted lamb in cumin, and almond and rose water cakes.
Unfortunately the four videos below have been deleted from youtube although the programme that was aired no doubt exists somewhere. It covered Jamie Oliver's two-day visit to Marrakech and offered a fantastic insight into the rich traditions of the food culture. We saw Jamie exploring the food souks, the spice markets, the night food market in Jemaa el Fna, and join a family for some Moroccan home cooking. Along the way he shows how to make his own versions of chicken and lemon tagine, Moroccan roast lamb, beef tagine, baked whole fish, and a 'snakey cake' made of filo pastry, almonds and rose petals.
If you love food and were in any doubt about visiting Marrakech, this programme would have you on the next flight over!
