Fashion Days Marrakech

Launched three years ago by the Federation of Traditional Moroccan Couture, Fashion Days Marrakech is today a major fashion event that best reflects the evolution of Moroccan tradition. It's a response to the western "fashion week".

The 2012 Fashion Days show was held at the Four Seasons hotel in Marrakech over three days in January, and was sponsored by Miss France 2012, Delphine Wespiser, and the Chairman of Hermes Paris, Xavier Hermes. A fashion show in the true sense, the show also aimed to raise money for the Moroccan Association of Children's Villages SOS.

At a press conference held at the event, the President of the FCTM stated, "Fashion Days Marrakech has as its main objectives to develop the profession of sewing and traditional creation, to discover young talent, support and integrate them into the world of haute couture." "Fashion Days Marrakech also seeks to highlight the expertise of national crafts and cultural heritage."

Children's Villages SOS is an international non-govermental organisation established over 60 years ago.  It operates in 133 countries worldwide and advises UNESCO and the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. It's been operating in Morocco for the last 26 years and cares for children who are at risk of having their basic rights abused, those who have no family or at risk of losing it.
