Welcome to Dar Zaman, an oasis of calm and tranquility in the heart of the magical medina of Marrakech.

A centuries old English owned riad, Dar Zaman is located in the very authentic 'quartier' of Sidi Ben Slimane, close to the famed Dar Zellij restaurant and Dar Yacout. Tucked away at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac away from the regular tourist trail and street noise, the neighbours are regular Marrakechis who make their homes here. Easily accessible by taxi (taxi stops 2 minutes walk from riad) and an easy 10 minute stroll to the Medersa Ben Youssef, Marrakech Museum and entrance to the main Souks area. The main square of Jemaa el Fna, with its fire eaters, jugglers, snake charmers and ancient story tellers is just 15 minutes away.

Dar Zaman has been decorated and furnished exclusively by Marrakechi artisans. The décor is clean and simple, with crisp white walls providing an ethereal interior that creates a serene and soothing haven from the bustling medieval city. Centred around a peaceful interior courtyard with plunge pool and trickling fountain, the riad offers four exquisite double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. Both the salon and salle à manger have fireplaces, and a third smaller salon is equipped with satellite TV. Wi-fi is available throughout the riad.

The terrace offers the opportunity for sunbathing and lounging surrounded by olive, lemon and palm trees, hibiscus and jasmine, with views over the medina rooftops to the Koutoubia Mosque and on a clear day, stunning views of the High Atlas mountains in the distance.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and consists of freshly squeezed orange juice, tea or coffee, yogurt, and a selection of croissants, Moroccan breads and crepes with honey or jam.

Light lunches, salads and omelettes may be requested if guests are staying in the riad during the day.

Dinner at Dar Zaman is not to be missed - delicious Moroccan cuisine including salads, tagines or couscous, with fruit or pastries to finish. Tell us what you would like to try, or leave it to Fatima to surprise you. Meals can be taken either on the patio, in two dining rooms, or on the terrace under the stars.

Dar Zaman is a perfect hideaway for couples wanting a romantic break in this enchanting city. Alternatively it can be hired out as a whole; ideal for celebrations and groups of friends.
